There are specific times during the year that dealerships are looking to sell cars quickly and lower prices to boost sales. We share the details.
The Best Times
These are times in the year when you’re likely to get the best deals.
– End of the model year
– End of the calendar year
– End of the month
– End of the car’s life cycle
– Three-day weekends and some holidays
– Early in the week
If you’re not in a hurry to buy a car, you should wait a bit. In certain months like October and December, dealers usually offer better deals. December is likely to have the best prices, but stock is likely to be limited. The months with the most discounts are October, November, and December. This is when dealerships are clearing the old stock for the new year. If you’re not shopping in these months, check May, June, July, August, and September. There are small sales held during the summer. You’ll see more around the special holidays.
Late winter and early spring months like January, February, March, and April are the least likely to have sales deals. New stock arrives during this time, and demand is low.
End of The Month
Salespeople earn commission and need to meet their quotas. If they’re short, they’ll be interested in making a deal to push sales. Discounts and incentives will be on the table for you.
Early in The Week
Fewer people are car shopping on Mondays or Tuesdays. So, salespeople are more interested in trying to sell you a car. They’ll give you time, show you the options, answer your questions, and transactions will go smoother as well.
End of Model Year
There’s no specific season when new models arrive at showrooms. You’ll need to do some research to find out when the new model of the vehicle you want is arriving and go shopping at that time.
Do your research and test drives before the holidays and three day weekends. Then start the deal on the weekend and close it on the following Monday.
